Mathias Hagen aus Schwerin
Mathias Hagen begann seine Musikkarriere 1998 im Alter von zwölfeinhalb Jahren. Durch seinen damaligen besten Freund André wurde Mathias auf das Produzieren aufmerksam. Seine ersten Anfänge mit dem HipHop Ejay waren zu der Zeit noch recht spartanisch, wodurch er sich entschloss, nach neuen Möglichkeiten zu suchen und nach 2 Jahren des Produzierens mit dem Ejay den Magix Music Maker für sich entdeckte. Nach einigen kleinen Erfolgen im Freundeskreis und 6 Jahren später begann er sein Wissen an andere Künstler weiterzugeben. Darunter waren Tx Chrome (Tino) und DoubleGee (Markus) aus Schwerin. Später fing Mathias an, Remixe von Double Gee zu erstellen, welche dann auf gute Resonanz stießen.
2009 lernte Mathias die in New York lebende Künstlerin Fiona Walsh (Spin Diva) über Myspace kennen. Schnell fing ein reger Austausch zwischen den beiden statt und es dauerte nicht lange, bis Fiona den Track "New Style" in einem Ihrer Sets im New Yorker Underground Club spielte. Im selben Jahr wurde Mathias gleich viermal bei Sunshine Live gespielt. Das ganze geschah über die Plattform "Uptrax", bei welcher er mehrmals in den Top10 gelandet war. Ebenfalls Im Jahre 2009 lernte er auch den Hamburger Artist und Moderator Manuel Turobin kennen, welcher Mathias mehrere Male in seiner Radioshow "TheRealFM" spielte. Das Set von Fiona Walsh in welchem auch der Track von Mathias enthalten war, wurde in einer Special Sendung präsentiert, wodurch der Sender auch außerhalbs Deutschlands gehört wurde.
2010 kam die große Wende und der erste Release stand vor der Tür. Durch seinen Freund "Janne Hautala" alias Phase One, kam er in Kontakt mit dem Stuttgarter Label "Reality Bites Record". Am 30. Dezember war es dann soweit, und seine erste EP "Darkness Music-EP" erblickte das Licht der Musik-Welt, welche großen Anklang fand. Das Jahr 2010 war in vielerlei Hinsicht ein großartiges Jahr in seiner Karriere. So knüpfte er unter Anderem Kontakte nach Argentinien, Kroatien, Deutschland, USA, Italien und Rumänien. Remixe und Projekte waren die Folge.
Im darauf folgenden Jahr (2011) arbeite Mathias mit dem Argentinischen Künstler Aukan an dem gemeinsamen Projekt "Bination", unter dem mehrere Tracks entstanden sind. Der erste Track hieß „Gate 9“ und wurde direkt bei Reality Bites Record 2011 released. Der Artist „Passion“ steuerte einen Remix dazu bei, welcher auch auf der EP vertreten ist. Im Sommer erfolgten dann zwei weitere Releases bei dem jungen Label "dyn.b Records", welches von dem Dj Duo Colin & Roxx aus Schwerin betrieben wird. Später (im Winter 2011) wurde Mathias von den beiden bei einen Voting Contest gewählt und bei "Electronicclubsounds.de“ gespielt. Durch Colin & Roxx erhielt Mathias auch die Chance, einen Trailer für das Festival "Snowbeat" zu erstellen, welcher auch vom Veranstalter genehmigt wurde.
2012 entschied sich Mathias für sein bis dato größtes Projekt mit dem Namen "A World at Night". Bei diesen Projekt handelte es sich um eine Compilation, welche alle 3-4 Monate erschienen ist und das Ziel verfolgte, andere Künstler aus der ganzen Welt zu unterstützen. Das ganze Projekt lief von Januar 2012 bis September 2014 mit insgesamt acht Ausgaben und über 100 Künstlern. Im gleichen Jahr erhielt Mathias seine erste Auszeichnung, den Award als "Newcomer 2012".
Im Jahre 2014 erfolgten erneut 7 Radio Auftritte beim Sender Sunshine Live. Der Track "Blind (Ultimate 2014 Remake)" wurde gleich viermal in Folge gespielt und war zugleich Wochensieger und Platz 1 in den Wochencharts auf Uptrax. Am 05. Dezember wurde der Track "Blind" auf dem Label Time Fusion veröffentlicht.
Ein Jahr später (2015), lernte Mathias den Kölner Sänger Kevin S. kennen. Ihre beiden gemeinsamen Tracks "Regentanz" und "Traumfänger" erhielten sehr viel Aufmerksamkeit und landeten mehrere Male und Wochen auf Platz 1 auf diversen Musikplattformen. 2015 war auch der Start eines neuen Projektes namens "Liquid Fear" zwischen Mathias und dem Label Inhaber Steven Liquid. Am 16. Januar 2015 wurde Mathias von der englischen Musiklegende Judge Jules in der Radioshow "Ministry of Sound" auf BBC 1 Radio gespielt.
2016 kam ein neues Projekt mit den namen "Africana Sundown" zwischen Mathias und Steven Liquid hinzu. Im Februar 2016, traffen sich Mathias, mit den beiden Label Inhabern Andrew Fields (Time Fusion) und Steven Liquid (Ultimate House Records) um das alte Projekt "A World at Night" wiederzubeleben. Heraus kam eine entsprechende Radioshow. Seit Februar ist Mathias das neue Mitglied von Ultimate Digital.
Die Radioshow "A World at Night" lief bis September 2017 mit insgesamt 23 Ausgaben. In der Rubrik "On the Phone", hatten wir auch namhafte Künstler dabei, wie z.B.
Rolf Maier Bode (RMB), Dj Quciksilver, Charles McThorn, Pattraxx und Para X. Dabei erzählten die Künstler am Telefon, über ihre persönlichen Erlebnisse in der elektronischen Musiklandschaft.
2018 erschien nach 20 Jahren, dass Album "Musical Rebellion" mit insgesamt 7 Tracks, indem mehrere Genre vertreten sind. Das Album kann unter "Album", kostenlos runtergeladen werden.
2019 kam der junge Filmstudent Gunnar Jandke alias Polsaris aus Hamburg auf Mathias zu und fragte ihn, ob er Interesse hätte, einen Soundtrack für seinen kommenden Film zu machen. Der Film ist noch in der Bearbeitung und wird evtl. im August 2020 fertigstellt.
Im September 2019 hat Mathias sich von Facebook gelöst und ist Anfang 2020 zu den dezentralen Netzwerken gewechselt.
Auf Seiten wie SoMee, Bittubers, Appics, Steemit etc. ist Mathias als musikalischer Pionier vertreten.
Seit Februar 2020 macht Mathias Auftragsarbeiten im Bereich "Video" für die Firma "Sound Concept" aus Schwerin.
Ab Anfang 2021 wechselte Mathias zu Image Digital, wo er mit Christian Schäfer und Tim Hennig gemeinsam arbeitet.
Mathias began his musical career in 1998 at the age of twelve and a half. Mathias became aware of producing through his best friend at the time, André. His first beginnings with the HipHop Ejay were quite spartan at that time, so he decided to look for new possibilities and after 2 years of producing with the Ejay he discovered the Magix Music Maker for himself. After some small successes in his circle of friends and 6 years later he started to pass on his knowledge to other artists. Among them were Tx Chrome (Tino) and DoubleGee (Markus) from Schwerin. Later Mathias started to create remixes of Double Gee, which were well received.
In 2009 Mathias met the New York based artist Fiona Walsh (Spin Diva) via Myspace. Soon a lively exchange between the two took place and it didn't take long until Fiona played the track "New Style" in one of her sets at the New York underground club. In the same year Mathias was played four times on Sunshine Live. The whole thing happened on the platform "Uptrax", where he had been in the Top10 several times. Also in 2009 he met the artist and presenter Manuel Turobin from Hamburg, who played Mathias several times in his radio show "TheRealFM". The set of Fiona Walsh, which included the track of Mathias, was presented in a special show, so that the radio station was also heard outside of Germany.
2010 came the big change and the first release was just around the corner. Through his friend "Janne Hautala" alias Phase One, he got in contact with the Stuttgart label "Reality Bites Record". On December 30th the time had come and his first EP "Darkness Music-EP" saw the light of the music world, which was very well received. 2010 was in many ways a great year in his career. Amongst others he made contacts to Argentina, Croatia, Germany, USA, Italy and Romania. Remixes and projects were the result.
In the following year (2011) Mathias worked with the Argentinean artist Aukan on the joint project "Bination", under which several tracks were created. The first track was called "Gate 9" and was released directly at Reality Bites Record 2011. The artist "Passion" contributed a remix, which is also on the EP. In the summer two more releases were made on the young label "dyn.b Records", which is run by the Dj Duo Colin & Roxx from Schwerin. Later (in winter 2011) Mathias was chosen by them at a voting contest and played at "Electronicclubsounds.de". Through Colin & Roxx Mathias also got the chance to create a trailer for the festival "Snowbeat", which was also approved by the organizer.
In 2012 Mathias decided to create his biggest project to date called "A World at Night". This project was a compilation, which was released every 3-4 months and had the goal to support other artists from all over the world. The whole project ran from January 2012 to September 2014 with a total of eight issues and over 100 artists. In the same year Mathias received his first award, the "Newcomer 2012" award.
In 2014 there were again 7 radio appearances on the radio station Sunshine Live. The track "Blind (Ultimate 2014 Remake)" was played four times in a row and was at the same time weekly winner and number 1 in the weekly charts on Uptrax. On 05 December the track "Blind" was released on the label Time Fusion.
One year later (2015), Mathias met the singer Kevin S. from Cologne. Their two tracks together, "Regentanz" and "Traumfänger", received a lot of attention and landed on number 1 on various music platforms several times and weeks. 2015 was also the start of a new project called "Liquid Fear" between Mathias and the label owner Steven Liquid. On January 16, 2015 Mathias was played by the English music legend Judge Jules in the radio show "Ministry of Sound" on BBC 1 Radio.
In 2016 a new project called "Africana Sundown" was added between Mathias and Steven Liquid. In February 2016, Mathias met with the two label owners Andrew Fields (Time Fusion) and Steven Liquid (Ultimate House Records) to revive the old project "A World at Night". The result was a corresponding radio show. Since February Mathias is the new member of Ultimate Digital.
The radio show "A World at Night" ran until September 2017 with a total of 23 issues. In the "On the Phone" section, we also had well-known artists on the show, such as
Rolf Maier Bode (RMB), Dj Quciksilver, Charles McThorn, Pattraxx and Para X. The artists talked on the phone about their personal experiences in the electronic music landscape.
In 2018 appeared after 20 years that album "Musical Rebellion" with a total of 7 tracks, in which several genres are represented. The album can be downloaded for free under "Album".
In 2019 the young film student Gunnar Jandke alias Polsaris from Hamburg approached Mathias and asked him if he was interested in doing a soundtrack for his upcoming film. The film is still being edited and may be finished in August 2020.
In September 2019 Mathias left Facebook and switched to the decentralized networks in early 2020.
On sites like SoMee, Bittubers, Appics, Steemit etc. Mathias is represented as a musical pioneer.
Since February 2020 Mathias has been doing commissioned work in the field of "video" for the company "Sound Concept" from Schwerin.
From the beginning of 2021, Mathias moved to Image Digital, where he works together with Christian Schäfer and Tim Hennig.
